services, funding and rebate options

communication support For:

  • Inaccurate speech sounds that impact the clarity of your child’s speech and reduce their ability to express their thoughts/wants/needs clearly. Some examples may include: “tat” for “cat”, “wabbit for “rabbit” etc…

  • For parents who are concerned that their child is not acquiring language in a typically developing way.

What to expect:

After a comprehensive assessment and identification of communication challenges, individually tailored therapy goals are created in consultation with the child and their family with a focus on what is important to them.

Any referrals to other health care providers will be also made at this time. These may include: audiologist, ENT surgeon, paediatric dentist, feeding specialist OT/SLP, orofacial myologist etc.

Speech therapy with young children is a collaborative approach where faster results can be seen when practice is also implemented in the home environment.
